At a Glance

Type: Monastic Island / Agricultural Enclave

Location: A substantial island situated just west of Sunreach in the Bay of Sun’s Reach. It lies only a few hours’ journey by boat from the mainland docks.

Geography: Unlike the rocky, defensive islands of the north, this island is low and arable, dominated by rolling farmland that benefits from the same supernatural fertility as the mainland "Breadbasket."

Accessibility: The island is easily accessible by standard vessels. There are no blockades or treacherous currents guarding it; the barrier to entry is entirely social and traditional, not physical.

Description: The island is a patchwork of meticulously tended fields and orchards surrounding a central monastic complex of simple white stone. It is quiet, but not empty. Monks can be seen working the land from dawn until dusk in a rhythm that matches the agricultural intensity of Sunreach, but without the commercial bustle.

Function:

Subsistence & Silence: The Order is entirely self-sufficient, living off the yield of the island’s rich soil. They act as a spiritual anchor for the region’s fertility, tending the land as a form of silent prayer.

The Silent Welcome: The Order practices a policy of "Passive Isolation." They do not man the docks, nor do they turn visitors away. However, they do not interact with outsiders. A traveler may land, walk the paths, and even enter the outer courtyards without being stopped, but they will be met with absolute silence. The monks will look through them as if they are not there.

Tradition:

"Left to its Own Devices": By long-standing Dagonethian tradition, the island is considered politically inert. It is not taxed, patrolled, or administered by the High Stewardship.

The One-Way Trip: Culturally, it is understood that if one travels to the island, it is to stay. Visitors are rare because the trip implies an intent to join the Order. To go there as a tourist is seen as a profound misunderstanding of the place's purpose.
